Leonid Slutsky has urged CSKA Moscow to win a European place after missing out on the Russian Premier League title this season, commented on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Keisuke-Honda-c20516’s injury.
With just three Russian Premier League games left to play, the race for the coveted second-spot may go down to the last match of the ongoing season, with Spartak Moscow, CSKA Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow and Dynamo Moscow right in
the mix.
CSKA have been the least effective of the aformentioned teams during the third league round and run the risk of losing out on European football next season. Their poor form has seen them claim just 7 points from the last 7 outings.
They have managed a single victory in their last 10 matches, which incidentally came against Spartak Moscow 4 games earlier.
Leonid Slutsky, the Red-blues head coach, has lamented his side’s poor form and admitted that missing out on Champions League football will be a big blow for the people associated with the club.
“We are well aware of the growing problems but I do not have any complaint against any player. The entire squad carried out their duties in a professional manner and they work out very hard in training.
"Everybody at the club is disappointed with the results. But the main thing is that we should not give up hope. For a team like CSKA, missing out on the Champions League is a clear failure.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as
saying.
CSKA have been injury ravaged for a better part of the season, as the likes of Keisuke Honda, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Dzagoev-c4249 have remained on the sidelines.
While speaking on Honda’s injury, Slutsky lamented the situation and admitted that Zenit’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergei-Semak-c32976 played a key role in sidelining the Japanese sensation after hitting him on the thigh with his boot.
Slutsky revealed that he expected it to be a minor injury but was furious to know the nature of the injury. The Russian tactician admitted that Honda is recovering from the recurring injury, but ruled him out for the upcoming match
against Dynamo Moscow.
