Missing some icons after a virus on my PC

Question

... I ran AVG and I think I have resolved my issues.... But, I can not see what progrmas are running.... To the left of the clock on my desktop I will see the little program icons for those programs that are running.... but I do not see them anymore they are gone... Also, I can not open the Task Manager.... How can these two issues be resolved?

Do a system restore (in the safe mode ) back to a date before you had the problem.That should restore your settings and files.
