Mistakes made by different National Hockey League teams in the transfer agency
When the transfer agency is opened, every team tries to bring in some player and leave out some. Sometimes these moves pay off but sometimes teams have to regret making some moves.
In the latest transfer agency many moves were made, some of them made the teams very happy but few moves turn out to be wrong ones.
We will have a look at few of such moves which proved to be wrong.
Carolina Hurricanes:
Bryan Allen was one player that Carolina Hurricanes brought in two years ago and he served them pretty well by playing all games in the 2011-2012 season, not missing even a single game.
The experienced defenseman has been NHL for a long time now and has appeared in more than 600 games overall for different teams.
They have let him go and now he will play for Anaheim Ducks next season, something that Hurricanes may regret.
Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago Blackhawks had won Stanley Cup three years ago and have not been able to repeat the performance since then. They needed to bring in some big name to make their team worthy of winning it again but they were not able to do so.
Blackhawks missed out on opportunities of singing many top players like Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, Roberto Luongo, and Martin Brodeur, something they will definitely regret.
Colorado Avalanche
Colorado Avalanche signed P.A. Parenteau for four years in this transfer agency. Parenteau is a very talented player but he has never been signed by more than one year before.
Plus the money he was signed for may also be a question mark for them. Even though he had a great last season but he is an unpredictable player and you never know that this move proves to be a fail for Avalanche.
Columbus Blue Jackets
One of the biggest moves and biggest gamble was the transfer of Rick Nash from Columbus Blue Jackets to New York Rangers. Blue Jackets traded their captain and their key player who has been scoring so many goals.
Having been top scorer for so many seasons, Rick Nash was considered to be responsible for the downfall of the team in recent years and their finishes below the 10th place in the regular season.
Now it would be interesting to see if Columbus will improve in the absence of Nash or they will go down further.
