Mister Music to face the Diamond Jubilee Handicap at Epsom in collision with Hajras
The Class 2 Diamond Jubilee Handicap (Sponsored by Investec) has brought together some really talented runners. The race will be held at Epsom over a mile, two furlongs and eighteen yards on Saturday, 2nd June. The line-up attracted for the £24,900
prize money comprises of thirteen three-year-olds.
Mister Music, Singspiel’s three-year-old bay colt out of mare, Sierra, is the only entry on the line-up who has raced at Epsom and has won there during the previous season too.
He won the Greene King IPA Conditions Stakes on 25th September at Epsom over a mile and half a furlong by taking charge of the final 2 ¼ lengths as the 10/11 favourite of the race. Hint Of Mint settled as the runner up of the race and had Surrey
Storm closing in and taking up the third slot.
The three-year-old penetrated into the new season on 18th April at Newmarket over a mile and a furlong. He scored second against the winner, Stipulate, who led the final four and a half lengths of the race.
The bay colt’s second outing of the season was at Epsom in the Investec Derby Trial Conditions on 25th April over a mile and two furlongs. He missed the race while adrift by 1 ¾ lengths from the winner, Goldoni.
Mister Music had Ryan Moore onboard and was followed by the 9/4 favourite of the race, Cameron Highland.
The very recent race that he was a part of witnessed him finishing fifth and to recover from being blown off so miserably, he might just swing back into form today and make the most out of the chance by completing the trip before any of the other contenders.
He will need to look out for quite a handful but Hajras, Dubai Destination’s three-year-old bay colt out of mare, Nufoos, is the one to look out for. He bagged the first two races of the season and then landed second in the most recent venture that he undertook.
He cleared the maiden on 17th March at Wolverhampton over a mile and half a furlong as the 4/9 favourite of the race.
The 5/2 favourite then claimed the Ripon “c**k O’ North” Handicap at Ripon over a mile on 19th April.
