Rattling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197’s heroic efforts during the game.
Aiding the first Australian Test victory at home this summer (by 137 runs), Starc ended with figures of 5-63 in the second innings, following an ordinary 1-104 during the first against Sri Lanka, at Hobart. The 22-year-old tagged Siddle as the “heart and
soul” of the Australian side for inspiring the team to perform well.
“Sidds was outstanding again in Hobart and was pretty much the heart and soul of the attack. For me just to follow on from him, I played pretty much a supporting role with Sidds there probably deserving 10 wickets. Not just the bowlers (are lifted by Siddle),
the whole team is,” shared Starc.
The young fast bowler has impressed Australian selectors each time he has come out to bowl during the recent Tests, and has been consistently fit (when several Australian bowlers are suffering from injuries).
Resuming their innings on the 5th day from the overnight 65-2 at Bellerive Oval, Sri Lanka could not defend against the fiery Siddle (who bamboozled the Lankans by picking up http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Samaraweera-c2712).
His herculean efforts were then followed by the young Starc, who delivered his best display for the Kangaroos to date, with his dazzling burst of reverse-swing on an uneven last day pitch at Hobart.
The 22-year-old has developed as a young sensation for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Craig-John-McDermott-c51704 and Ali de Winter.
“That consistency is coming. I've got to find that balance between being over aggressive and containing one end. That will come, I'm still learning, I'm only 22. "I'm taking it all in my stride and learning from each game,” added Starc.
Sharing his desire to play the Boxing Day Test against the touring Lankans at Melbourne, the young fast bowler was hopeful of another remarkable performance for his team.
