Question:

Mittleschmerz early in cycle??

Has anyone got mittleschmerz pains eighteen days before AF was due?? My body seems to be going through alot of changes over the last 7 months since my mc ( periods becoming slightly irregular, intense mood swings, no mittleschmerz pains etc) I kind of gave in to the fact that I might not be able to have anymore kids (I'm 34 ) but this month, I have had mittleschmerz pains again for the first time in months. My period isn't due for 18 more days, so isn't this too early in my cycle to be ovulating?? I haven't even bothered to check CM or temps lately, but I can say that we have been BDing just in case.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

  1. The mittleschmerz pain I get are actually pretty reliable.  I'm 34 also and have had irregular cycles since going off BCP last year--but my experience has been that my "ovulation pain" coincides with OPK's and temp. shift every time.  With irregular cycles, I'd say this pain could definitely mean your ovaries are making noise for a reason!  But I have read that you can "gear up" for ovulation (pain, EWCM, +OPK's) and your body can fail to follow through, so they say it's not a reliable sign.  But I'd say you're smart to pay attention to it.  34 is still young :) so hang in there.  Maybe try an OPK to see if this pain could really mean ovulation soon!  Good luck!!!

  2. if your periods are slightly irregular, you might be ovulating different every month too, thats how i was , and doctor put me on clomid to help us... good luck, i just turned 33 this month, so i know how you feel, i get those ovulating pains too...
