Mix guinea pig? better three than two?

hello, i have two american female guinea pigs and i wanna add a third one? is it a good idea? or do guinea pigs live better in two than three? my cage is 14 sq. feet. i was thinking about adding a Abyssinian guinea pig as a third girl. is this ok?

  2. That'd be fine. I think it's great you're wanting to give another one a home. Check on http://www.petfinder.com/ because they will have their pigs sexed correctly, as a petstores will not. Besides, don't breed or buy while shelter pigs die.  

  3. As long as there is enough room, adding a 3rd female to you pair should be fine.

  4. I'm not sure that three is BETTER than two, but having three female guinea pigs should be just fine. Keep an eye on them the first few days though and make sure theres no fighting going on between any of them. And, since it is a big cage, they will all still be able to have space to themselves. It really won't matter what kind of guinea pigs they are, they should get along just fine as long as they're all girls and they're about the same age.
