Question:

Mixer speed selector lever

Dear sir, I see you are a Hobart expert as you have helped many people on this website. I have an older A200 20 quart mixer and the solid metal handle on the speed selector broke. I did call Hobart but those idiots do not know anything. I went to Hobart's online parts catlog and found a really old parts catalog and it shows a machine identical to mine and the lever as being part number p-12728. I called Hobart and they say this part is no longer available and is not replaced by something else. I see a newer online catalog for the A200 mixers and it has the 2 piece lever as part number 437339 which hobart says is the same as part number 00-875241. However the sold metal lever p-12728 is not interchangeable in their computer. I think that if I get the new 2 piece lever I can make it work as all my other pieces (front plate, rear cam, etc) are all in good shape. Can I do this or do the 2 styles of levers not interchange?
This is an older mixer (has an on-off switch that looks like a house light switch) so I want to make sure it is the same before I pay $55 for a new 2 piece lever and find out it is different. I can not find out when this mixer was made or even its specific ML number as only the following is engraved on the side of the mixer:60.115.230.1KGA.A2008461.A9525111648855What unit is this? The person at hobart can not help me out. I would hate to get rid of this mixer all because I can not change the speeds on it as the lever is really tough to turn without having the long arm on it.

Thanks in advance for your help!
