Question:

Mizuno World Win or Rawlings Sandlot glove?

For a middle IF. The Mizuno is 11.75 and the Rawlings is an 11.5. The prices are more or less the same, both seem to require little, if any, break in time.

Has anyone had experience with either of these? I like the color of the Mizuno and the retro look of the Rawlings.

Any insight would be appreciated!

  1. The Rawlings is a much better glove overall. It has a good trap web and the is smaller which will allow you to transfer the ball quicker from glove to hand. Rawlings is more reliable and the Sandlot style looks great.

  4. Real answer - Rawlings Sandlot. Rawlings owns more than 25% of the market, by itself. Mizuno's are great, I just feel like they get sloppy too fast, especially for a middle infielder. You don't want that "little league" floppy, fold inside out, break-in. Rawlings gloves stay crisp if you treat them correctly.

My answer - neither. Ask Mom and Dad for a Rawlings Pro Preferred - if you are willing to take care of it. I've played ball since little league, on up to the professional level. I've had 4 pro preffered's in my lifetime, and will never use another glove. I've had one now (that I still use in competitive baseball) for 8 years. It's still crisp and perfect for the middle infield. They are a bit on the expensive side, but you can find deal's and they are well worth the price in my opinion.
