Question:

Mizuno shoes - built to last?

I am very familiar with the 300-500 mile rule for shoes, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this rule regarding mizunos

I'm asking because they seem much lighter than other shoes, so is it possible they'll wear out sooner?

Please share any ideas you may have; I'm trying to avoid getting hurt from using old shoes... thank you

  1. I have run in numerous pairs (9-10) of Mizuno running shoes and have found they last about the same as Asics, Brooks and Saucony models. The shoes durability is also related to the type of runner you are along with weight etc.. Less pounding on shoes outsole (bottom) from a lighter runner could mean closer to 400-500 miles vs. considerably less for a heavier or less efficient type of runner. I currently like both the Mizuno Inspire 4 model and the Elixir 2. However, the new Saucony Pro Grid Triumph 5 shoe is one of best overall cushioned shoes I've ever owned.
