Mo Martin’s beautiful bond with her grandfather
Mo Martin’s number one fan is a 100-year-old man, which is a record in itself. The fan is none other than her grandfather Lincoln, who is the source of inspiration for the upcoming golfer.
Mo Martin is anything but conventional. An LPGA rookie at the age of 29 is pretty unusual but for Martin it is a normal thing. She believes in doing things at their proper time and has waited long and hard for her chance to receive an LPGA tour ticket.
She started playing at a young age and trained under her father, who wanted his children to develop a taste for the game. Martin caught on and golf became her ticket for success in life.
Golf became the centre of Martin’s universe early in her life. She started playing at the age of four. She remembers her father making clubs for her and setting up a net in the driveway.
Martin played in local tournaments with some amazing results. She went on to become a celebrated local player with great golf talent.
Martin used golf as a stepping stone for higher things in life. Education became her priority and she used her golf skills to her advantage.
She decided to walk in on the UCLA golf team and find a way to get a golf scholarship. Apparently, Martin’s game and technique impressed the coaches sufficiently and she was signed up for the team.
The scholarship was instrumental in her life. She graduated in 2005, with a degree in Psychology. She played golf throughout this time. She played a key role in leading UCLA to success in various events. After college, she signed up with the Symetra Tour.
Symetra Tour is one of the best preparatory tours available to aspiring players. It is considered to be the fastest route to LPGA. Many well known players have emerged from Symetra Tour and took LPGA circuit by storm.
Martin has built a connection with her grandfather after realizing that he is her number one fan. This realization sparked off a relationship that has seen Martin through her golf career. Using the philosophy of her grandfather, the young player has bettered
her game and chances for an early LPGA ticket.
