Moaning Penny wins the March 700 Maiden at Mildenhall
Moaning Penny took a comfortable victory in the March 700 Maiden at Mildenhall in England on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. She was the favourite to win and lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end, winning a cash prize of £100.
A total of six runners were attracted towards the Grade OR event and their names were: Moaning Penny, Ard Boiled Egg, Droopys Neale, Siege Of Venice, Passport Bill and Harps Millie. The stamina of all these hounds was tested, as they had to cover a race
distance of 700 metres.
The bookmakers had complete faith in the abilities of Moaning Penny, as she has been performing pretty consistently in this class. She was given a starting price of 4 to 5 and lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end.
D. Whitton’s started off nicely and remained in control of the race throughout. Her speed was good and she did not allow anyone else to build a lead over her. She covered the total distance in 45.25 seconds and the punters would have earned some easy money
over her victory.
The triumphant b***h would have earned enormous confidence after winning the race and she will definitely win a lot more bets in the future. Her stamina is extremely good and the longer distance races seem to be more suitable for her.
Moaning Penny is the daughter of Westmead Hawk out of Florida Penny and was born in October 2009.
Ard Boiled Egg finished runner up in the race. She also performed very well and could have finished on top of the table. However, she ran out of gas in the end and finished two lengths adrift of the triumphant hound.
A. Dale’s trainee had a clear run and she kept on fighting hard for victory towards the end. However, she was unable to improve her speed in the end, thus had to settle for the runner up position. Her team would have been pleased with the result though and
will be expecting her to continue doing a similar job in future events.
The second placed b***h is the daughter of Droopys Kewell out of Ard Flash and was born in February 2009.
Droopys Neale, trained by A. Kirby, was also in good form, as he finished third. He had a clear run and seemed to be in a good position to win at one stage. However, he lost momentum towards the end of the race.
The white and black dog is the son of Westmead Hawk out of Droopys Sporty and was born in March 2010.
The remaining runners were unable to match the top three and fell way short in the end. They will need to improve a lot in order to fight for race victories in the future.
