Moany Tony favourite for West Row 220
Moany Tony has been rated as favourite for the West Row 220 at Mildenhall in England on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. The winner of the Grade OR event will be awarded a cash prize of £150.
Speed will be crucial in the race, as the overall distance to cover is just 220 metres. The action is scheduled to start at 20:00 GMT and following entries have been confirmed: Moany Tony, Blackrose Slick, Lughill Poppy, Pams Deema, Killerk Sammy and Hound
Dog.
Looking at the experience of Moany Tony in this class, the bookmakers believe that he will be able to walk away with a comfortable victory in the race. However, he has been out of winning form for the past few events, which will discourage the punters to
risk money on him.
The H. Dimmock’s trainee has got excellent speed, which will definitely help him perform well in today’s race. He will need a clean start though, as there will be minimum time for recovery at Mildenhall.
In his most recent race, the black dog was unable to meet the expectations of the bookmakers, as he finished fourth despite being rated as the favourite to win. He was a touch unlucky though, as he got badly crowded at the start. As a result, he dropped
down the order and did not have enough time to make a comeback.
Things might be a touch different for Moany Tony today, if he gets off to a brisk start. He is the son of Eskimo Jack out of Buzz Lamars and was born in February 2010.
On the other hand, Blackrose Slick has also been awarded pretty decent odds for victory, as he seems to be in terrific form at the moment. He has won three back to back events, which shows the kind of momentum he is carrying.
However, only one of those three victories came in a Grade OR event, which means that things will not be as easy as they appear for the E. Cantillon’s trainee. He is the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Riverside Bella and was born in April 2009.
Apart from the top two favourites, Lughill Poppy might also manage to make an impression at Mildenhall.
