Mobil Four Star Rating?

Question

Someone told me that a restaurant had this and I had never heard of it before. It sounds like a gas station referral....and how could that be so hot for a fancy restaurant. Well, I have been out of the loop for a while, but am I the only one who isn't familiar with Mobil ratings. Or is it something that people in the restaurant business know about and consumers don't.

I know restaurants have ratings but a special Mobil rating?

Mobil has the star rating system and Triple A has a diamond rating system.  Both are nationally recognized and a two star/diamond rating is around an applbee's level and a four star/diamond is a fine dining establishment w/high standards of service.  For the most part consumers are more concerned w/the number of the star or diamond and less likely to notice the entity from which it came.
