Mobile Spa Needs to Make profit-marketing help!

I own a mobile spa servicing the DC metro area. We have been in business for over 6 months and have not made any profit. The money I do make pays for supplies and the independent contractors I use for my events. I am having a hard time deciding what will work and what won't so I won't waste money. I do a lot of events where I offer services at no charge but I can't continue to do that. Basically I am trying to book corporate clients, community events and people who want to have spa parties but nothing is coming in right now. I do a lot of internet marketing and internet research to find new gigs. What else do I need to do? And how best to decide on a marketing plan so I don't waste time/money? I would like to get to the point where I can franchise eventually but I want to get my marketing scheme down first so I can help others.

I am really interested in hearing from other mobile spas as well.

  1. I dont know anything about mobile spas unfortunately, but I do know a bit about advertising. And the fact of the matter is you need to get involved and personal.

    Alot of people see your ads on the internet but it is too hard to trust people who advertise that way.

    One of the most effective and cheaper ways to get yourself noticed is FLYERS. It seems so simple but make a powerpoint flyer, include a coupon and/or special. Do a refer a friend promotion as well. You can have black and white copies made CHEAp in mass. Check with your local newpaper and see how much it is to have your flyer inserted on any given day of the week. Sunday is popular but tere alot of coupons going in that day so see if they do inserts on a different day.

    Also, put flyers on car windows and front doors. People are forced to at least glance at it and it may be waht they are looking for PLUS you are close by nd they will trust you more. Make the flyer personal.

    Also, you can do lead bags. A bag with a sign up sheet. People will sign up to win anything! All you have to do is go around to local businesses and ask to put your lead bag out for a few days. Check on them everyday or every other day. At least you will then have peoples names and numbers that are interested in your services. Give away a free cleaning with onw paid one.
