  1. No reason why you can't use it with a desktop, assuming you get good reception on that network in your house.

You don't need to have a phone with the company as you can get a usb mobile internet adaptor that has it's own sim card.

Beware though, it's expensive compared to adsl/cable and all the mobile broardband services in the UK have download limits.

  2. I use a mobile broadband on my desktop PC, I don't have a laptop.  It is more expensive that landline broadband though.

  3. You can get it on Desktops as long as it a USB Mobile boardband adapter.

Without the USB one. Then, it won't work.

Also, USB is an increase in price so pay attention to that.

  4. You can use it with your desktop - after signing contract you will get 3G mobile modem connect it via USB port , install provided software and you online . But why do you want to get mobile broadband for desktop it's slower then landlines ( average 3G broadband connection speed 2MB/s and average landlines speed 10MB/s some ISP provide with services up to 20-50MB/s depending on where do you live ), have low download caps ( 10GB per month ) . Most people get 3G broadband for laptops due to often travels and I don't believe that you'll be taking your desktop on any of your travels ( good sight desktop on train or airplane ) .

And no you can chose any 3G provider regardless of your mobile carrier ( some carriers might offer better deal for costumer with multiple products )
