Mobile phone tracking gsm cell id?

Ok, i have a nokia n73 (s60v3) phone and i want to enable tracking on it in case it gets stollen. I heard it can be tracked by gsm cell id and i know already some cells id from home but that wont help cuz the thief can go in a cell i don't recognize.

Can anyone tell me a free service for tracking a cell phone thru cells id in Romania ? or an alternative ?

had a program that sends the thief phone no. and cell id to a predefined no. but it useless because it wont start with the phone and i can't just call the thief and ask him to return the phone.

I heard about a service in UK that can track a phone by no. thru GoogleMaps. Something like that but in other countries and free / low cost anyone ?

There are plenty of things that can be done with a smart phone but they require dedicated applications and services.

I am not aware of any such service in Romania (and I kind of know the market) and I do not find the idea of it to be reliable anyway.
