Mobile phone with optical zoom?

Hi,

I'm looking for a new mobile phone with a good camera. Many phone cameras have digital zoom capabilities, however, is it possible to get a mobile phone camera with an optical zoom?

99% of camera phones have small high Mpix chips with pinhole lenses and no camera optics so take poor pictures.

only a few have proper camera style optics but again they are so small as to be not much good.

if you want optical zoom and good pictures buy something called a DIGITAL CAMERA!  not a phone.  even the Samsung, Nokia and Sony that have these camera looking optics are veer poor cousin to proper zoom optics in camera with multi segment lenses.

the samsung g800 has it

but its realy big and not very good

just get somthin with a 5mp camera and alot of digital zoom

or wait for the 8.1mp c905

not many have it but the LG Dare has a great camera

yes the first phone to have optical zoom was the nokia n93 which has a 3.2mp and 3x optical zoom

but it's outated..so you can either go for the g800 or the new sony ericsson with 8.1mp which is yet to be released
