hey im doing summer reading and ive been looking around trying to find help with the setting of the book and the ime and place and were ishamel goes to in the book

Oh, dear.  Have you even opened the book?  The setting is a whale ship (the Pequod) which leaves from New Bedford, Massachusetts.  The time is the mid-1800s, I'd say around the 1850s when the book was published.  

Where did the Pequod sail?  I don't know exactly--to whaling areas in the South Pacific, I imagine.  This is utterly irrelevant to the book and its importance.  (It's not really just about catching a white whale, you know.)
