I am looking a a model of the WWII Enterprise aircraft carrier. I want one that i have to assemble my self and paint and glue together. I also want a big one, not a small 1 or 2 foot one. Can any one direct me to a site that sells the Enterprise Carrier? (it has to be the Enterprise) Thank you in advance.

  1. 1/350 USS Enterprise CV-6

    http://hsfeatures.com/features04/enterpr...

This should send you the right direction.

  2. The Enterprise of WW2 was designated CV-6.  The most significant difference between it and the later Enterprise, apart from size is the deck.  CV-6 has a straight deck, while the newer one CVN-65 has an angled deck.  There are good comparison photos here, http://www.google.com.sg/search?hl=en&q=...

To find the model I would suggest you contact the USS Enterprise, CV-6 Association, I'm sure they'll know what's available.  http://www.cv6.org/

I found a website of a 1/350 scale Enterprise from a 1/350 Hornet Kit.  The website describes all the modifications and tells you how to do it. http://hsfeatures.com/features04/enterpr...  It also has great detailed pictures.

This site lists source of models and plans to build a 1:16 scale model if you are really ambitious.  It also provides tips and paint chips for painting the camouflage scheme.

This is a great site and forum for model builders. http://www.modelshipwrights.com/  They even have group builds.

This site has the best collection of Ship models with accessories and information for building. http://www.modelshipbuilding.com/catalog...

This is a 1/350 scale model on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.ie/TAMIYA-1-350-USS-ENTE...

If you decide on the Tamiya Kit, this site sells detail accessorys, http://www.kriegershobbies.com/tmw.htm

    Enjoy and Good Luck!!!

Hope this gets you in the right direction.  Good Luck!!

  3. Ehobbies has a few of different sizes: (linked below)

Too bad she will be the last Carrier named Enterprise.  It will be the end of a great legacy.

    Good luck.

Check if it has the slant deck then it is the Nuclear Carrier CVN 65 what you want is the straight deck CV6.  Check thou if you can find a straight deck Yorktown class it would be the same - just need to detail it accordingly (found a version of the Hornet which is a Yorktown Class Carrier - last link)
