The ASEAN, Singapore as one of the strong key state in ASEAN bloc, is one with the Philippines in fight against terrorism.

The countries exchange dialogues in preventing any terrorists attack to any ASEAN state that will damage the future economic basket of Asia. Singapore is one strong economy with very defined laws against terrorism and acts of terrorism.

Philippines had suffered from insurgency in the Southern part of Mindanao. However, undet the facilitatiion of another ASEAN state, Malaysia, insurgency and other security problems are now being solved, peacefully. Now, the terrorists groups were now dismantled and actually almost non-existent. However, the fight is not over. There must be vigilance to control and monitor any illegal or terroristic plan.

Some actions to control or eradicate terrorism are:

1.) Strengthening the Intelligence forces and to monitor any  possible terrorist activity: recruiting, training, and others.

2.) Monitoring the movement of suspected individuals.

3.) Empowering and educating communities, where terrorist might concentrate or camped out, to cooperate with authorities. Fighting them with information and education, to fight their "brainwashing".

4.) Adhere to "no ransom" all out war against terrorism. Bring all terrorists to the full force of the armed forces and with the utmost teeth of the law.

5.) Media and Public campaign to educate the masses on public awareness, vigilance and cooperation. Report suspicious indviduals in malls, airports, seaports and other public areas. Safety of all must be a prime concern of the campaign against terror. Vigilance and being mindful of others must be the the thrust.

6.) Tighten securities in ALL public areas, especially airports, seaports, all public vehicles, public places of worship, malls and other public places. Police visibilty 100% of the time.

American Special Forces are in the Philippines, and have been for years - not as soldiers, but as training facilitators to provide training to the Philippine Army who is fighting the Abu Sayyaf (Moro Islamic Liberation Front ) in Mindinow (Southern most part of the country).  The MILF are Islamic Terrorists who kidnap people, bomb crowded areas, and fight for a 100% Islamic nation.  The Philippines is 85% Catholic, 10% Protestant, and 5% other (including Islamic).

Under The Philippines law, outside forces are not allowed to 'fight' within the borders of the country, and that is why America provides supplies and training only.

Several years before the 9/11 attacks on America, a similar planned attack involving 12 planes was thwarted by filipino intelligence who freely shared this information with the United States.

On January 7, 2002, the Singapore government broke up a network of militants targeting the U.S. Embassy and American businesses after arresting 15 people with links to Osama Bin Laden.
