  1. HI Megan.   Look in the phone book under Modeling or Talent Agencies.  Don't call one that is associated with any school,  as that is where people are required to spend thousands of $$$$ to take the classes and then they get you no jobs...  believe me.   If you find a good agency,  they will set you up for an interview so  you need to have a portfolio or at least a professional headshot to take with you.  Good Luck

  2. Hi Megan - I think I anwered another one of your modeling questions earlier so some of this will probably be repeated but the advice still applies here.

First off - DO NOT go to Barbizon (or JRP, Cassablancas, Millie Lewis or any other modeling school).  They only want your money.

And unless you live in NYC pretty much anyone you find in the yellow pages is going to be pretty much the same thing - modeling schools.  Same with Google Searching on the web.

The truth is, the real agecnies - the ones you want to work with, don't advertise.  Why?  Because they litterally have hundreds of models coming to them a day hoping to be discovered.  They don't need to pay for Google Ads or big spots in the yellow pages or scout at malls and college campuses.  All the new talent they could ever need shows up at their doorstep.

Any company passing as an agency who wants money up front for anything is a scam. If you're interested in modeling and really would like to get started visit OneModelPlace.com - it's a huge online community for the industry. You can network, find photographers in your area (some of which will help you build a portfolio for free) and depending on your area you may even find jobs there. Best of all, for models, it's free to join. As with anything on internet, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Check references before working with anyone and always bring someone with you to any shoot.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.

  3. Check out Barbazon. I think that is the name of one.
