Modeling agency for disabled children?

We live in NYC and my daughter has an orthopic problem nothing to noticable but when you look you can see it.

Otherwise she is a gorgoeus child. She desperately wants to be a model. We brought to an interview last year and she pasted then they agency said we had them a monthly fee. A co-worker of mine who is a model said never use a company that needs you pay them prior to you work. Basically fine a company that takes a comission.

So does anyone know of a agency that will work with kids with disablities?

  1. i really can't help cos i'm in the uk but here we have a company i think its run by warwick davis (willow, harry potter etc) that only deals with disabled and special needs (sorry if thats the wrong wording) so there is a good chance that you'll have one in new york because there is always a need for people in films and advertising.

  2. I don't think there are any. These days, models are expected to be perfect. Anybody with flaws - no matter how minor will face rejection. Is a disabled child really able to deal with that ? The mental strain and endless disappointment might be too much for her.

  3. Try looking around on the internet or asking your friend.  If she was a model she might know or have an agent that knows.
