For a while now i've been thinking about doing modelling, i'm 15 and leaving school in about 8 months. I'm 5ft10 and about a size 10-12 (i've started cutting down on food and work out more though). Its something i've always wanted to do and i'd really apprechate it if someone could give me advice on getting into the industry.

Thanks!

  1. most models are size double 0 :(

im sorry..u can try it tho

    good luck

  2. Yea you can be a plus size model so yea go for it :)

    just bring ur portfoilio

and all the stuff u need and just be urself you have to have a really good personality :)

    good luck!!!!

  3. First off, why are you leaving school at only 15? I promise you it will be a choice you will most likely end up regretting later when you need a job and don't have a high school diploma and going back to get a GED is not any fun, believe me I know. I had to quit school halfway through 7th grade because of major family problems and it's something I've regretted every day since then and that was about five or six years ago.

Don't quit your school.. you'll need it later in life.

I think you could go for plus size modeling though, which I think it's stupid for a size 10-12 to have to be a plus size model but that's just the industry, but you definitely sound like you're tall enough.. but sadly in the modeling industry you have to be very very pretty and you need to get a portfolio together.

  4. dont listen to the peopl who say a size 10-12 is big , its not ecspecially since your tall, and yeah you could model, you need to have some pictures made[a portfolio] and send them to some modeling agenncies, or to a store like jcpenny or sears. also you could start in pagents[they are expensive though] but if you really want it go for it, dont let no one or nothing hold you back from your dreams!!!

  5. go for it, but dont drop out of school!

    mine please?

  6. I assume your English because you are leaving school at 16.

Well, you're height is right and your weight (I hate saying this) could reduce a tad. Most models are size 4 or scarily enough double 0.

Being a model means you can take an amazing photo, with much expression and emotion. Your look should be unique, something that separates you since so many girls vie for this.

If you think you are "good enough" for this industry, I would seek out opinions from major management agencies.

But always remember, modeling lasts for a few years, so I would return for your A-levels and get a degree so you can have a comfortable fall-back.

  7. Um , not to be rude but size 10 - 12 is a bit large for modeling. Most models are around a size zero.

Don't make the mistake of leaving school early, later on when you want to get a serious job you'll regret it.
