Question:

Modelling clay, instead of polymer?

I couldn't find polymer clay, but I found modelling clay. Is modelling clay safe, and good material for making jewelry, charms, etc? And is baking modelling clay safe? Thanks

  1. Oil-based modelling clay is safe, but it cannot be baked, and it doesn't harden either.

Unless you wanted a charm you could constantly reshape, you need to find some polymer clay. There is also an air drying resin based clay called Lumina, when it dries, it feels sort of like flexible plastic. Try looking in a craft store or on the internet.

Baking oil-based modelling clay is a bad idea though, it will melt all over the oven. You probably shouldn't try it.
