Modem stops working when phone rings, and is slow starting up again.?

I live why out in the country in Texas, does that have anything to do with it being slow starting bck up.

check to be sure you have DSL filters on all of your phones... sounds like your phone does not have a filter, and that is why your internet goes out when you get a call... OR you have a wireless router and a 2.4ghz cordless phone... in which case you should log into your router and change the channel of your router, or replace the phone with a 5.8ghz, or DECT phone...

DSL can take a few minutes to reset itself and resync with the DSLAM at the central office... distance with the central office, and line quality will affect your internet speeds...
