Modern Warfare 3 holds off the Assassins (Creed: Revelations, that is) on the PlayStation 3 charts
It has been another week since we last took a look at the software sales on Sony’s PlayStation 3 console in the United Kingdom and things have changed over the past seven days. However, a majority of the movement has been in the middle of the chart itself.
Here is the PlayStation 3 software sales chart in the United Kingdom for the previous week:
10. WWE ’12: A reboot of the long running wrestling series by THQ, WWE ’12 manages to hold on to the ropes and avoid being thrown out of the ‘top ten’ in the Royal Rumble that is the PlayStation 3 charts.
9. Batman: Arkham City: the caped crusader is still managing to sneak its way around the sales charts and keep fans satisfied. With a host of Downloadable Content already available and much more to come, one can expect the game to stay in
the charts for a while longer.
8. Need for Speed: The Run: some term it as the base-born child of the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and Heavy Rain, yet it does stand out on its in the racing genre and manages to get a few more sales in for its publisher EA Games.
7. Saints Row: The Third: unique, whacky and utterly ridiculous, the third instalment in the Saints Row series has made a name for itself and stands out on its own. Though, the fact that the cause of over 2-million deaths in the game have
been from a d***o is a matter of concern.
6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: It is a surprise that Skyrim continues to sell as well as it is at the moment, especially considering how the PlayStation 3 version of the game has more bugs and glitches than a piece of software designed
by a 12-year-old. However, the game is amazing and hey, it has dragons.
5. Battlefield 3: It may not have beaten Modern Warfare 3 in terms of sales, yet it can compete with it blow for blow in terms of gameplay and it is only right that we start off the top five with EA’s return to the classic class based first-person
shooter.
4. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception: making a jump back into the top four after slipping a couple of places is Nathan Drake in his third adventure.
3. FIFA 12: while it may not be in the top spot the fact that FIFA 12 is in the top three places in the UK means that there is no reason to panic, the world is in order.
2. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations: with one of the most emotional endings in recent gaming history, Revelations is managing to give Ezio Auditore a fitting farewell.
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: enough said.
