Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 cannot seem to knock The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim off the top spot in the Xbox 360 software sales charts.
The sales chart for the Xbox 360 tends to reflect a more hardcore market, with very few casual games managing to hold down a place in the top ten. The week before Christmas was no different, as the software sales chart for the Xbox 360 for the week ending
17th December.
10. Kinect Sports: Season Two: with the lack of AAA titles available for the Kinect, it seems that Xbox fans are making due with Season Two, which to be honest, is not that bad a game.
9. Batman: Arkham City: let’s face it, Arkham City was twice the game Arkham Asylum was and it really is no surprise that it is still in the charts before Christmas.
8. Need for Speed: The Run: is one of two racing games that are in this week’s chart as EA’s story based racer moves up one place in to number eight.
7. Forza Motorsport 4: the second racing game in the charts is the Xbox 360 exclusive, Forza Motorsport 4, which has to boast some of the most detailed car models ever to come out on the console. Oh and the gameplay isn’t that bad either.
6. Battlefield 3: scrapping the Bad Company vibe and adopting a realistic modern-military feel, EA have released a game they can be proud of and the extra sales revenue does not hurt anyone.
5. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations: Ezio continues to roam the rooftops of the ten places in the chart in his final adventure, which fans have taken to quite well.
4. FIFA 12: dropping one place to number four this week is Electronic Arts’ latest instalment in the FIFA series. The game has been in and about the top spot for quite some time now and its strong sales continue as the UK prepares for Christmas.
3. Saints Row: The Third: with a unique twist and take on the genre, Saints Row: The Third is both a wacky and a unique breath of fresh air. The sales figures reflect how well the public have taken to it as the game with s*x toys does the
business.
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: it may have broken all previous sales records during its opening week, yet it cannot seem to knock the next game off the top spot.
1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: topping the charts for yet another week is the game with dragons and the sales figures do not look like they are about to take an arrow in the knee anytime soon either.
