Modern Warfare 3 to be released on 8th November: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC
A recent listing by one of the largest online retail websites, Amazon.com indicates that the third installment in the multi-million-dollar hit Modern Warfare franchise, seems set for release in November later this year.
According to the listing, Modern Warfare 3 will be launching just before the Christmas period on the 8th of November, just before Sony’s PlayStation exclusive Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception across all the three major platforms i.e. Sony’s PlayStation
3, Micorsoft’s Xbox 360 and PC.
What makes the source credible is the fact that a recent POS Poster in Australia had the same dates that Amazon had listed on its website.
Along with Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3 will face direct competition in the form of its nearest rival in the modern world military shooter genre, Electronic Arts’ highly anticipated Battlefield 3.
Modern Warfare 3 is under-development by Infinity Ward, the same developer that brought the previous two instalments and was also involved in the drawn-out legal battle that saw law suits filed against both the developer as well as the publisher.
The latest leak follows the four teaser trailers put out by Infinity Ward, that went some way in confirming the rumours of the games imminent, announced at this year Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) where the game is set to be officially shared with the
gaming world.
The report is yet to be officially confirmed by the developer, but the release date is similar to previous releases of the game and would put it in a strong position for the hectic Christmas period.
The Modern Warfare series has always been prone to leaks when it comes to information about the game with the entire single player campaign story already doing the rounds on the internet.
Apparently ‘Soap’, Makarov and Price will all be in the game along with two new characters, including Sandman, with the battles taking place all around the world including Germany, and will feature huge set pieces.
It may be too soon to expect any confirmations but with E3 just around the corner one can expect plenty more details.
