Modern decor ideas for small boys room?!?

I need ideas for paint and decor in my 5 and 2 year old boys' room. I would like to go modern minimalist meets whimsical... thinking of charcoal & light lime for colors - but I can't seem to find much to go on. Any help would be awesome!

Just paint the walls a light gray--maybe do one wall a darker shade of it or the light lime. Jo Ann Fabrics (ironically) has these cool charcoal and light gray dorm magazine racks that s***w into the wall. You could use them for small stuffed animals or books. Go and get solid light lime comforters for their beds. Also, find them lime and gray paint and have them paint pictures. You can cut them up and put them in a photo mosaic frame or regular frame so it's their art, but it's the right colors.

Rather than start with a color choice decide on a theme first.  What are they into??  Cars, trains , dinosaurs, sports, boats? I'm sure they have tons of toys so going for a minimalist look is setting yourself up for a lot of frustration. Look at the bedding available for little boys.  If you find something you like (or better that THEY like)  you'll have your colors already chosen for you.  All you'll have to do is pick one.

(Just my opinion but charcoal and lime for two little boys???  Really??)
