Modern decorating for a small bedroom?

Question

I am renting house with two other women for school. The bedroom that I have is small.

When I say small, I mean very small. (114" * 128") I want to decorate my room with a modern/minimalist feel with a desk for studying.

What furniture should I buy and how should I arrange them to get the most out of my room?

If you have any height to the ceiling and you don't mind being up high, you could put your bed up there and have the desk underneath it.  Then your minimal floor space could also have room for a dresser and maybe a small lounge chair.  Be very selective in what you bring in.  If you don't love it, don't have it.  And if you need it, make it attractive to you.  Make sure everything in your closet performs a double function.  Shelves for all the shoes, 4-5" apart, drawers or boxes for the sweaters or out of season clothes, double hanging rods.  Be super organized, and you will fall in love with your space.  Just have another place to entertain and an alternative place to study.
