  1. Cosmetic- Its OK

Performance- you will pay more for the insurance but if you install NOS you get a really cool sticker with a red cross on it

  2. anything which enhances the performance of your car will affect the premium of your insurance, not telling your insurance company about the modifications can deem your policy as void. thus not having cover for insurance. if you want my opinion, this will be mroe of a concern in you are at fault for an accident.

the impact this will have will generally be an increase in the premium for your car cover.

cosmetics including alloy wheels can be deemed as performance enhancing as well as increasing the likely hood of attracting theft.

you should expect to pay more, simple

    hope this helps

  3. any mods to the exterior will increase as it makes the vehicle more likely to be stolen, as for wheel trims you will be alright so long as its not alloys you have in mind and seat covers wont need mentioning to them.

    hope this helps

  4. anything other than what the car leaves the factory with is classed as a mod

  5. wheel trims and seat covers are fine but anything that enhances the performance of the car is not allowed

  6. seat covers won't affect the premium. with regards to other modifications, well that depends on the insurance company. where i used to work, we only cared about things that affected performance, so chipped engines etc, and we would load the premium by anything up to 10%.

wheel trims can affect premium of the vehicle, especially if they are alloys or high value. skirts, lower front bumper, lower back bumper, large exhaust, and spoilers etc can affect the premium, more so if you are a younger driver to older. it could be increased excesses if you make a claim, or a big loading on the policy. i remember one case where i used to work where the whole car had been modified, full body kit and performance increase. we loaded their premium by 50%!

it might be best to keep the personalisation for inside (seat covers / bucket seats etc) and the paintwork perhaps, rather than adding bits and pieces to the car, unless the wheel trims are not going to be alloy.

  7. Cosmetic improvements may affect your premium as well if the insurance company considers they make the car more likely to be stolen.

  8. as long as it doesn't dramatically change the looks of the vehicle. cos I remember that my insurance company killed me cos I put some big wheels with big mud tyres on my landi and had to flair the wheel arches to keep it legal. cos I changed the tract size of my landi they put my insurance up

  9. It Sounds like you are really screwed up by this problem. Hope you could get good luck here.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  10. Anything inside the car ie car seat covers, changing the gear k**b and pedals etc are ok. alloy wheels can make a difference. if you crash the car, don't expect to be paid out for them. also if you alter the car by adding skirts or lowering the car with different size wheels, can make a difference. we get called out to cars that have been lowered with skirts and the insurance company know nothing about them. They don't like it. It can also cause problems if you're car breaks down and you don't inform Breakdown companies of any changes made. It makes the car difficult to recover and you can get the bill for not telling the right people of the changes. Basically insurance companies will only pay out what a basic car is worth, regardless of what you've done, so its best to just tell them to be on the safe side. Also keep the receipt's and take photos of your car.
