Modifying Habitrail OVO to Make It Easier to Climb Stairs

Question

I have the Habitrail OVO cage for my dwarf hamster, but he has trouble climbing the stairs to the food dish. They are too smooth and slippery. Is there anything I can do to make the stairs easyier to climb that isn't too hard, expensive, or makes it look bad?

Try adding a little sand paper to the stairs, it should give your hamster enough grip to get up the stairs, and it also files down their nails too.

To attach it, I would try using double sided tape.

This is a really cheap and effective way to end the problem.
