According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid’s Luka Modric and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s Alex Song have been voted as the flops of the previous transfer window
Luka Modric and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 were new to La Liga in this new edition of the competition as both of them sealed moves to their current clubs.
Alex Song completed an infamous move to the Catalan giants, as most of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 international spent a large part of his career with the Gunners, the former years being the ones in which
he found it very difficult to make a breakthrough to the first team of the London outfit.
However, the current Barcelona midfielder settled himself well in to the Emirates based team’s squad once presented with the opportunity and sealed his first team place.
Many of the Gunners’ faithful will call song a traitor, just because he did a Robin-Van-Persie to them. The midfielder had just seen one successful season with his former club, and as a bigger team came calling, he never looked
back at his roots with the club that nurtured him.
Whether it is for the Arsenal fans curse or for some other reason, Song has found it extremely difficult to settle in with the Camp Nou outfit.
The Cameroonian managed just a handful of minutes under his belt and his controversial move was rewarded by Marca, much to the pleasure of the Arsenal fans, as the flop of the transfer window.
Real Madrid’s recent acquisition, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857, has also been at the receiving end of the same award.
To speak in defence of the Croatian, Modric’s case is somewhat stronger to defend than the former Arsenal man.
Luka has regularly managed to get minutes on the pitch for Jose Mourinho’s men but has failed to make an impact of the sort that he used to make at former club Tottenham Hotspurs.
Modric’s receiving of the flop award is also down to Real’s in-ability to perform in the league this season and this has certainly earned the once most renowned central midfielder, some rosy blushes.
