Luka Modric transfer window saga finally came to a close recently as Real Madrid signed the Croatian midfielder but the former Tottenham playmaker has said that he left Tottenham on good terms and that he has no hard feelings
towards anyone at the North London club...
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 has admitted that things ended on a good note between Tottenham Hotspur and himself despite the fact that Tottenham stalled his move to Real Madrid and tried to keep the midfielder at White Hart Lane against his wishes.
Modric and the Tottenham chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy’s relationship soured when the Croatian midfielder expressed his desire to move away from the English Premier League outfit after Real Madrid revealed their interest in his services.
Modric was an important figure of Tottenham’s central midfield options and he was a sure shot first team starter for the North London club which failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season. A year earlier, in the
previous summer transfer window http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 had approached Tottenham for Modric’s services and Levy had denied the flashy playmaker the chance to play Champions League football back then.
However this time around, Modric forced the move through by refusing to train at Tottenham, for which he was punished severely by the club. Not only that, it seemed that the deal was off between the two clubs but now Modric is
a Real Madrid player as the Spanish giants paid 33 million pounds for his services.
Modric said, "There are no hard feelings. I want to thank everyone there. I spent three great years there and enjoyed every moment. People thought there was something bad between us but it wasn't anything bad. It was normal [in
negotiations]. I am glad that it is finished now and that I am at Real Madrid.”
He added, "When I was in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 one day. I chose the Spanish league because it's one of the best leagues in the world And I chose Madrid because they are the best club in the world. They've won
so many things, so many titles. It's amazing for me to be here.”
