Moenchengladbach counting on chances for posting a career victory through the McMahons.IE Family Fun Day 1st April Hurdle at Limerick
The McMahons.IE Family Fun Day 1st April Hurdle is to get staged at Limerick over two miles and will be contested for by nine runners on Monday, 19th March. The race has the purse worth €8, 970.
The youngest with a recent third position on the lineup is Moenchengladbach, Stardan’s four-year-old bay gelding out of mare Dusseldorf. He has raced during the season just once which marks to be his debut season and striking a third position in that is not at all disappointing.
Moenchengladbach was third in the Fethard 4YO INH Flat Race on 9th February at Thurles over two miles. He was riding with Mr. G. M. Mangan while the winner of the race was Another Challenge leading by nine lengths on the field of five.
The runner up for the race was Forced Kin. The 11/10 favourite of the race, Knockanarrigan, was the last participant to leave the track.
Trained by Augustine Leahy, if the four-year-old has struggled hard to get placed in the career debut then there is a high possibility that he will get hold of the chance provided through the second start. He has already raced over the similar distance so that would not be an obstacle to assure success anymore.
The race course and the jockey will be different this time though as Moenchengladbach will be ridden by M. J. Ferris.
The only potential threat on the lineup is The Four Elms, Desert Style’s four-year-old bay gelding out of mare Flying Freedom, as his final race of 2011 had him finishing third at Limerick.
He finished third against the winner Arnaud in the Freeman Keane Associates 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle on 28th December at Limerick over two miles.
However his outcome of the seasonal debut was not impressive as he came fourteenth on the lineup of twenty-five in the Leopardstown.Com 4YO Maiden Hurdle on 28th January at Leopardstown over two miles.
Hisaabaat was the 11/8 favourite runner up of the race.
There are some who will be racing their seasonal debuts today and the two who can truly pose trouble for one another, Moenchengladbach and The Four Elms are in for the second start of the season.
