Mohammad Aamer; A promising Pakistani pacer
Pakistan cricket has got another promising fast bowler, a sensational teenager Mohammad Aamer. Although there has been a steady stream of fast bowlers from Pakistan but no one could impress the cricket fans the way the pace trio had once been. The express pacer Shoaib Akhtar got huge eminence as he started his international career but he could not impress the cricket lovers as his injury-prone controversial personality kept him away from the international grounds for most of the time.

It was Wasim Akram, former fast bowler of Pakistan, who brought the talent of Mohammad Aamer to the front. Akram selected him as a fast bowler at a fast bowling camp in 2007. Aamer, 15 at that time, made the Under 19 squad for the England tour and returned home as one of the leading pace attacker, he got 8 wickets conceding runs at an average of 16.37. In 2008 Aamer sacked four wickets in consecutive games against Sri Lankan Cricket team and England. In this tri-nation tournament played in Sri Lanka - featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England – the young talent of Pakistan excelled once again with his line and length taking nine wickets in three matches at an average of 11.22.

Aamer started his international career with a T20 international. His promising domestic performance in the domestic cricket made a quick impact on national selectors. Aamer played his One Day International debut against Sri Lanka on 30th July 2009. His highest ODI total is 73 not out that he scored against New Zealand on 9th November 2009. He along with Saeed Ajmal scored 103 runs in the 10th wicket stand. His test debut was also against Sri Lanka on 4th July.
So far Aamer has played 8 test matches taking 21 wickets at an average of 41.50, while he has taken 23 ODI wickets in 13 one day matches at an average of 21.17.
