Mohammad Aamir still hopeful of a return to cricket
Pakistan’s banned left arm fast bowler, Mohammad Aamir, has promised his fans that he will be back in international cricket and will represent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 once again. Aamir, along with two other cricketers, Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif, were banned by a three
man International Cricket Council (ICC) tribunal in Doha, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Qatar-c2986 on fifth February for their involvement in spot-fixing. Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif were banned for 10 and seven years respectively, a five year ban has been imposed on the young Aamir.
English tabloid, News of the World, broke the story in August 2010 regarding the involvement of Pakistani players bowling deliberate no-balls during the Lords Test against England. Ironically, Mohammad Aamir was named the Player of the Series for his stunning
bowling performances during the same series.
Aamir burst on to international cricket scene during the ICC World T20 2009 where he played a vital role in the victory of the green shirts. Since then he has performed brilliantly in all forms of the game and emerged as one of the best young players in
the world. He was considered a sensational find for Pakistan before the controversy. Some of crickets great past bowlers including Imran Khan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 and Michael Holding, praised him on numerous occasions. However the spot-fixing controversy has hurt
his career badly and it remains a mystery if Mohammad Aamir will be able to make a comeback or not.
“Cricket is the most important thing in my life because I left my studies for cricket, I was so passionate about it. My entire family depends on me and I depend upon cricket so the entire thing will be upset by this decision,” Aamir expressed in a statement.
He was disappointed after the verdict but considering the sort of mental strength he has shown in the last couple of years, he definitely has the potential to bounce back in international cricket.
He feels that there is a lesson to learn for him in all this controversy. Mohammad Aamir said that, “I have firm faith that God must have some lessons for me to learn from all of this, like in a player’s career when he has a bad patch, I’ll take it in the
same way and I’ll try to work hard, make a comeback, and learn good things out of these bad days.” Fans all over Pakistan hope he does learn a lesson and makes his way back onto the international cricket stage.
