In first set of match, Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan took some time to gain the required momentum. Both teams remained close on the points table in the preliminary stage. However, few back-to-back productive rallies helped the Indonesian campaigners to pile
up a decent total.
They made best out of this flow and doubled their total in next couple of rallies. Although Sung Hyun and Yong Dae tried hard to narrow the gap on points table, yet they failed to hit the mark. Meanwhile, the twosome of Ahsan and Hendra doubled the trouble
by putting a respectable margin of 11.
After the one-minute interval, the Korean duo showed some spark and claimed some back-to-back points. It seemed that Sung Hyun and Yong Dae will continue with their top form and wrap this segment of the showdown in a favourable manner.
However, the opposing team stormed back and turned their plans into dust. The partnership of Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan looked at its best in the final moments as both shuttlers bagged many points in a row and placed a winning margin of 21-15.
The second set of match was also played in similar manner as the top seeded Korean team failed to end its bad patch and surrendered tamely. On the other hand, the victorious duo of previous game showed consistency in its performance and registered a straight-set
victory.
This time Ahsan and Hendra played with a cautious approach and gradually increased their score. They struck hard in third quarter of the set and strengthened their grip with few consecutive points.
This title match reached to conclusion when Ahsan-Hendra placed a decisive figure of 21-18. With this result, they earned the right to be on top of the victory stand of 2013 Singapore Open.
