Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan claim Men’s Doubles title at Maybank Malaysia Open 2013
Indonesia’s talented players Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan showed a wonderful performance and wrapped up Men’s Doubles title after beating Sung Hyun Ko and Yong Dae Lee in the final of Maybank Malaysia Open 2013 on Sunday, January 20, in Kuala Lumpur.
The impressive Ahsan and Setiawan, who were un-seeded players in Men’s Doubles draw of the tournament, played with incredible speed and toppled the sixth seeded Sung Hyun and Yong Dae while taking just 30 minutes on court.
Indonesian shuttlers were just uncontrollable as they played with staggering aggression in the arena and remained successful in winning the final encounter in straight games with a smashing 21-15 and 21-13 score on the board.
The sixth seeded Sung Hyun and Yong Dae, on the other hand, failed to play with control in their shots. They conceded many points by executing negative shots and eventually bowed down against their lower ranked Indonesian opponents without proving their
worth.
It was an interesting fight in the opening rallies when Ahsan and Setiawan showed a wonderful display of their impressive craft in the arena.
Indonesian shuttlers showed that they have obtained top quality skills on court and eventually remained successful in getting a strong position on court.
Ahsan and Setiawan did not show any sign of confusion as they remained in complete command of rallies until the one-minute break.
The confused Sung Hyun and Yong Dae failed to create trouble for their Indonesian rivals after the mid-game interval as they lost focus in the game.
The lower ranked Indonesians were very calm and composed in the arena as they did not show any sign of confusion and ended up the first game with a superb margin of 21-15.
In the following game, Ahsan and Setiawan played with phenomenal speed and they did not leave any chance for Sung Hyun and Yong Dae to get a good flow.
The Indonesians were at the best of their form and they easily set up a remarkable lead on the score board until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Ahsan and Setiawan stayed calm and composed in the arena and they easily took the second game with a smashing difference of 21-13 and ended up the contest in style.
