Mohammad Amir says he was forced in fixing by Salman Butt
In a startling revelation, the
Hindustan TImes has said that the Pakistani pace bowler Mohammad Amir has confessed to his role in the spot-fixing scandal that took place on Pakistan’s recent tour of England. However, Amir also said that he was forced into the match-fixing by his
senior cricketers, namely Pakistan captain Salman Butt.

Amir had reportedly told the Pakistani cricket board chairman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 that he did not want to be a part of the spot-fixing but had no option but to get into it after being coerced by Salman Butt and Mohammad
Asif. Both Salman Butt and Asif are co-accused for their roles in the spot-fixing scandal that hit the Pakistani team at the end of the fourth Test match against England at Lord’s.

Amir is said to have gone to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board chairman, Butt and said that he was “a victim of the power lobby of the seniors in the team.”

The PCB has however said that there was no such confession that had taken place and all its players were innocent until proven guilty. The PCB legal adviser Tafazul Rizvi said that the reports had been false
and the trio had continued to claim that they had not been involved.

“All three boys have been saying all along that they did not do anything wrong and they stand by it. They claim innocence, complete innocence and nothing but innocence,” Rizvi said.

This was also reported by the Pakistani television channel, Geo Super. The channel said that Amir had broken down and spoken to the team management about his involvement in the scandal. Amir had allegedly
told both, the Pakistani manager, Yawar Saeed and the captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed before being introduced to him by Butt and Asif.

Currently all the three cricketers allegedly involved in the spot-fixing scandal have been provisionally suspended by the International Cricket Council.
