The under-trial teenage pacer of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Mohammad Amir is optimistic about making it into the 2011 ICC World Cup, saying he cannot even imagine of missing out on ICC’s flagship event.
“Since stepping into the international cricket, playing the World Cup has been my ambition,” cited the emerging pacer.
When asked about his feelings if he could not get his name cleared until February next year, Amir said that it would be too disappointing for him as World Cup has always been a historic event for young players.
The 18-year-old was confident that by the time the quadrennial event gets underway in subcontinent, he would be out of the provisional suspension.
Amir and two other Pakistani cricketers, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt, were suspended provisionally by the ICC on 2 September following the claims of a British tabloid,

The suspended trio was given the right to appeal against their suspension and the players did although Asif withdrew his appeal just a week before the hearing.
Amir and Butt did have their appeals heard by the head of the ICC’s Code of Conduct Commission, Michael Beloff, at the ICC headquarters in Dubai. At the end of the two-day hearing, the appeals of the duo were dismissed sustaining their suspensions.
An independent tribunal will decide the fate of the suspended trio in January next year.
Amir hopes he will be able to clear his name in the full hearing which will allow him to feature in the mega event which gets underway on 19 February 2011.
