Mohammad Ashraful and Junaid Siddique fight their way back into Bangladesh T20 team – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Cricket Board (BCB) has recalled veteran cricketers, Mohammad Ashraful and Junaid Siddique, for the tri-nation T20 tournament to be played in Zimbabwe during the month of June.
The two batters have found their way back into the Bangladesh’s squad, after putting some strong performances during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and domestic competitions.
Akram Khan led the selection panel that handed the two batters a chance to make amends for their earlier failures.
The chief selector, while revealing the 15-man squad that will take on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 in the tri-nation T20 series, said, “Ashraful and Junaid were always under consideration. They just need to show some consistent performances
which they did in BPL.”
“Junaid has a very good reputation as a Twenty20 player. Ashraful also looked good in the domestic competition as he always does. It is also true that he cannot fulfill our expectations, but we want to keep faith in him because
he is a very good option for Twenty20 cricket,” Akram added.
Akram hoped that the squad they picked for the tri-nation series will help develop the perfect blend for the T20 World Cup, to be played in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 later this year.
He said, “We have good opportunity to find out the right combination for the Twenty20 World Cup.”
Junaid, who last featured for the Bangladesh team some nine months ago, showed signs of improvement. The left-handed opening batsman blasted 238 runs in the BPL and was equally good in the domestic competition.
Ashraful, on the other hand, was at his raring best during the BPL. The right-hander belted 258 runs for Dhaka Gladiators and at present is featuring for Blackheath Club in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kent-c802 Premier League and will be returning to his native
country on June 8.
