Banned Pakistan bowler Mohammad Asif is hopeful of making an early comeback to international cricket.
Asif was recently banned for seven years by the International Cricket Council for his involvement in spot-fixing during Pakistan’s tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2010.
The lanky fast bowler said, “It's tough watching the boys on television and not being part of the team. I find it really painful to watch and it really hurts that I'm not there at the World Cup with my team mates. It's every cricketer's dream to take part
in the World Cup. It would have been an absolute honour to wear the green of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and help the boys bring the trophy home.”
Expressing his disappointment over the verdict of the ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal, he vowed to clear his name and play international cricket again.
“I am very disappointed with the verdict of tribunal in Doha early this month. I am determined to clear my name and restart my international career. I love playing cricket and feel pride to represent my country,” he said.
Asif made his international debut for Pakistan in 2005 and since then, he has been the centre of controversies. Just a year after his debut he was charged for using anabolic steroids for which he was banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board. However, the ban
was later overturned when he appealed against it.

According to sources, Asif will be challenging the verdict of the tribunal in the Court of Arbitration for Sport soon.
