Mohammad Asif sets up Mohammad Majid clash in 3rd Ranking Snooker Championship 2012
Spectators present at the Karachi Gymkhana Club saw some outstanding competitions among top potters of the national circuit. On the penultimate day of the league matches of Jubilee Insurance Third Ranking Snooker Championship 2012, the leading seeded cuemen
registered their victories to move forward in the proceedings of the event.
After performing brilliantly in the penultimate stage of league matches, the current National Snooker Champion Mohammad Asif of Punjab was able to clinch one more victory against Mohammad Nazir by the score line of 4-2. He did not lose his focus during the
game and played sensibly to unsettle his opponent who had no chance to capitalise during the game.
Asif started the match with a brilliant first frame victory by the score line of 57-14 to grab an early lead of 1-0. The second set also finished in Asif’s favour as he cruised into 62-24 score line win to extend his lead of 2-0. Nazir was totally unnerved
in the third frame when Asif fired some classy snooker shots to win the frame by 75-2.
After that Nazir bounced back into the game and clinched two consecutive frames by the score line of 30-55 and 8-115. Before he could do more damage, Asif hit the sixth frame win to ensure his victory by 4-2. Asif will next meet Mohammad Majid in the final
session of league matches.
