Mohammad Hafeez, not the right choice for T20 captaincy, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 – Cricket News Update
Former Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ijaz Butt, feels that the board has made a mistake by replacing Misbah ul Haq with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Hafeez-c76898 as the T20 captain and called it a decision taken under pressure.
Last week, PCB announced the squads for the upcoming tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in the other two versions of the sport.
There has been a lot of criticism on Misbah’s ability to keep up with the pace of limited-overs cricket. After the Asia Cup, there were some calls to reappoint http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 as the captain of the national team in T20
cricket but against all odds, PCB has decided to go with Hafeez, who has been doing well in international cricket since the last 16 months.
It was Butt who took Misbah out of the wilderness and made him the captain of the Test team in 2010 and then showed confidence on his abilities in the shorter format of the game as well after Pakistan’s tour of the Caribbean in 2011.

Butt is all praise for Misbah and feels that the right-handed middle-order batsman is the right man to lead the country because he is a level-headed cricketer. The former Test cricketer feels such crucial decisions should not be taken
under the public pressure and changing the T20 captain was something not necessary.
"Hafeez is not a suitable candidate for captaincy of any format of the game and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 was the best choice, but I don't know what kind of pressure Zaka was under, which forced him to take an unnecessary decision, without any
rock-solid reason," said Butt.
The previous coach of the Green Shirts, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20, which is scheduled to be played in September this year in Sri Lanka.
“As coach, I regard Hafeez as an impressive, talented cricketer and a very hard worker on and off the field. But I feel the World Twenty20 is just four months away. Prior to this mega event, he will get only five Twenty20 matches
to set the right combination for the World Twenty20,” http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 expressed.
