Hafeez was simply honoured to be amongst the best all-rounders in modern day cricket and he credited opening the innings as the reason for his achievement.
The star all-rounder stated, “I am honoured to be in the fourth position among all-rounders and I feel opening the innings has helped me get this honour. Three of the top five best all-rounders in the ranking are opening batsmen. As openers we get more chance
to score runs.”
The 31-year-old further added that Twenty20 cricket has helped players become more positive in every format of the game. He said, “We have to be more positive in our stance and frankly Twenty20 has also helped me to implement a few strokes in Test cricket.
I am a big fan of Test cricket but Twenty20 has carried the game to many countries around the world.”

However, the Men in Green have finally found Hafeez who can score runs with consistency at the top of the order. He is a flexible player, which allows him to open the innings in all three formats of cricket.
Hafeez bats aggressively in Twenty20 and 50-over cricket and has the ability to change his batting style in the longest version of the game.
The veteran player is not new to international cricket since he made his debut back in 2003. However, he was unable to cement his place in the team back then, as he lacked the temperament and experience to survive in competitive cricket.
This did not hold Hafeez back, as he worked hard on his form and fitness and performed extremely well in domestic tournaments. This earned him a recall to the national side and the star player grabbed the opportunity with both hands this time around.
