Mohammad Moosajee rejects Gibb’s claims of s*x orgies and clique in the team
The South African cricket team has turned down Herschelle Gibbs’ claims of collective sexual rendezvous, the “clique” within the national team and cricket’s “drinking culture” calling the allegations "nonsense and disappointing". South Africa team, which
is currently playing a neutral venue one-day series against Pakistan in UAE, has been rattled by the charges out-of-favour opener Herschelle http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gibbs-c60021’ has levelled against them in his autobiography To The Point.
The book is particularly critical of Proteas’ one-day and Test skipper Graeme Smith, who, according to Gibbs “was simply too powerful”. The 36-year-old has alleged that a “clique”, featuring Captain Smith, all-rounder Jacques Kallis, the wicketkeeper batsman
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887 and wicketkeeper Mark Boucher has created divisions in the SA dressing room.
The opener, who has not played a one-day for the Proteas since February this year, claims the group of these four players has made it "impossible to develop positive team spirit". The allegations, however, have been rejected by the SA team manager Mohammad
Moosajee who has called the allegations “false and disappointing”. Moosajee said that the sensational attack of Gibbs has taken aback the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033.
"The players are very disappointed about the allegations because Herschelle is an excellent player and should rather be remembered for what he did on the field," Moosajee said while talking to the local media.
Moosajee said that the opener has not been a regular member of the team for the past two years, and therefore, he is not at all in a position to pass remarks on the team spirit.
"Anyone who has viewed the team's performances against Pakistan would have been able to see that it is nonsense. You can't achieve results like that without a good spirit on and off the field," added Moosajee.
The team manager strictly condemned the claims of sexual orgies. "His allegations (of group s*x in team hotels) apparently refer to the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in 1998. That happened 12 years ago and has nothing to do with the current team”. He further added that
the Cricket South Africa has its own code of conduct and the players and management abide by that.
