Mohammad Muneer leads the second round of Byco 13th Sindh Open Golf
Pakistani ace Mohammad Muneer smashed a score of five-under-par 67 to take a lead of five strokes over Ansar Mahmood  in the second round of Byco 13th Sindh Open Golf, which is taking place at the Arabian Sea Country Club in Karachi,
Pakistan.
Muneer stepped into the second round with a score of six-under-par 66, which set his mood for the day. He reeled eight birdies in the first round, which left the crowd awe-struck. Continuing to entertain the crowd, the veteran from
Islamabad clawed one eagle and six birdies against three bogeys.
Muneer demonstrated sheer skill and control on his putter against the windy terrain of Karachi. The veteran marched through the undulating fairways of Arabian Sea Country Club with ease and saved par on each of the hole, where others
faltered.
Five strokes behind Muneer was Ansar Mahmood, who failed to emulate his first round performance. Mahmood, who wrapped the first round with a 66, caught six birdies in the next 18 holes. However, he could not hold his own against strong
winds and dropped six shots, which included a double-bogey on the opening hole. The player sealed the day at par.
Shahid Javed Khan, who is representing Royal Palm Club in the tournament, occupied the third spot after compiling a score of two-under-par, 70. Khan stepped into the second round with a score of 71 and chose to tee-off from the front
nine. He reeled four birdies in the front and sealed it with a score of 32. On his way to the back, the player birdied two more holes but also carded four bogeys, which ruined his scorecard and left him standing at third place on the leaderboard.
Last year’s winner, Shabbir Iqbal capped the day with a score of one-under-par. The player, who lifted the trophy of CNS Golf last week, could not perform to his fullest. He struggled against the long pars of the course and the scorching
heat, which was accompanied by strong winds.
A total of 89 golfers from all over Pakistan will be teeing-off on Sunday in the final round of the competition in order to get their hands on the winner’s prize of Rs. 1.1-million.
