Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Sami has been fined for his behaviour during the Quaid-e-Azam trophy tournament. Sami was fined by the match referee during the match against Abbotabad. He has been fined Rs. 10,000 and will have to serve a one-match ban.
The Karachi City Cricket Association feels that the fine against the fast bowler was harsh and he was banned deliberately. Sami will not be able to play his next match against KRL which is a very crucial match for his team. This match will decide the spot
in the finals for the Karachi side.
The president of the KCCA Sirajul-Islam Bukhari was not impressed with the decision and decided to take action against the ban on Sami. He said that the management and Karachi team were unhappy over this decision.
Commenting on the ban he said, “We have sent a letter to the head of domestic cricket operations in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board. We are also unhappy with the fine and ban on Sami, the ban is harsh decision as he is our captain and a key player and from what
we have been told by our team management the Karachi players were justified in feeling unhappy over the umpiring standards in the match against Abbotabad.”
Sami has played 35 Tests and 83 ODI matches for Pakistan. He has been in and out of the team regularly because of his inconsistent performance. He was a part of the Pakistan team which played Test matches against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in UAE. The series ended in
a draw and after that, Sami was dropped again from the side which was due to tour http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
One source of the Karachi team said in an interview to the media that, “The match referee handed him a letter outlining the fine and ban before the start of the final day's play and this obviously rattled Sami whereas the final day's proceedings were crucial
to Karachi's chances of qualifying for the final.
This is not the first time that Sami has been handed over a fine. He was fined by KCCA over a brawl against his teammate http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Atif-Maqbool-c46639.
